We are proud to share our wins at this year’s Agency of the Year Award 2020! As this was our first foray into industry awards, our team is ecstatic at the unexpected wins. Kenneth Sim, Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer related:
“This is a shared win for our clients and partners, past and present. We were only able to pull off such business impact and results by co-creating closely with our stakeholders. We are also most grateful to our early clients who had faith in our unconventional approach to marketing and our proprietary Human Brand Methodology.”
Plans for tomorrow As an agency, we are now looking to advance our vision of creating a world of human brands by opening up more collaboration opportunities with intra and inter-industry stakeholders. We also plan to mobilise community hosting among businesses by democratising the ability to build their own platforms and content hubs.
Arvin Tang, Managing Director and Co-Founder, explained: “We were fortunate to have clinched our first multi-million-dollar project last year. An account of this size allowed us to realise end-to-end interventions and bring to market a full set of technological tools to ensure success across marketing, brand and digital transformation strategies for our client. Beyond that, it granted us greater collaboration space, allowing us to co-create with more partners and industry specialists.”
He added:
“The detriment of COVID will only be amplified in its wake. We can expect the market to continue fragmenting and becoming more disparate. We urge fellow agencies to bind together as a collective to thrive and explore how we can help each other acquire different and new markets. We hope to be able to grow our network of industry partners through meaningful, mutually beneficial tie-ups.”
AKIN intends to extend additional support to local, multi-generational, medium enterprises via our EDG intervention. We believe that this particular segment of businesses faces a unique predicament following the pandemic, which can be resolved via well-planned digital interventions.
More about what we did this year Earlier this year, we launched our not-for-profit ‘Plugs & Sockets ' initiative to support Singapore Small Medium Enterprises (SME) affected by the Circuit Breaker. This community-based project paired local firms requiring urgent business counsel (the ‘Sockets’) with its network of business partners and leaders (the ‘Plugs’).
The second round is slated to run later this month.
We also supported Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) pro-bono in promoting their Digital Access Programme. The programme equips low-income households, underprivileged students and vulnerable seniors with critical digital tools so that they can receive internet connectivity and have access to digital devices.
A little history AKIN is an NUS Overseas Colleges alumni company and was founded in 2012 out of the NUS Enterprise’s incubator, with the goal of transforming the way businesses connect with consumers. In 2014, we won our first full-fledged project, where we developed and delivered a holistic brand and marketing intervention based on our Human Brand Methodology.
Today, our portfolio has expanded across numerous government agencies, global startups, regional medium and large enterprises, and MNCs. This growth is shouldered by our amazing 16-man multidisciplinary team, made up of an interesting mix of economists, sociologists, marketers, researchers, developers, consultants and business strategists.
